I got a 1450 on my SATs, and a 169 on an IQ test a while back. I don't really beleive in the validity of either of those tests though.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I got a 1600 on my SAT. What do I win? [/ QUOTE ] My esteem, as you got the 10 points that I missed. And I still suck at poker. [/ QUOTE ] I got a 1600 too. They say people who get 1590s are more likely to get into college. [/ QUOTE ] I'd assume you mean into an elite college? I think the whole process was bullshit. Not because I didn't get into some schools I applied.. that's perfectly reasonable (only had like 3.6 in HS and didn't do [censored]), but because some of my very qualified friends were rejected from basically everywhere they applied. [/ QUOTE ] the college process is a jopke i didnt get into my top 4 colleges, and frankly, was bitter for almost 2 years. |

I didn't talk till I was 3. My parents thought I was retarded. They took me to a specialist who as part of the testing process, gave me several things to play with and then would ask me what they were/used for. She gave me a comb and I tried to eat with it and put it my mouth like it was a fork. She informed my parents that I was 'retarded' and would have severe learning defects and a rough childhood. When my parents asked her what prompted this, she talked about how she gave me a comb and I tried to use it as a fork and eat with it. My mom then explained how we didn't have any combs in the house. Explains my huge afro. from ages 2 - 10.

uh, i dunno what the people who are complaining about the college admissions process are talking about. i had a bunch of ivy league schools pay for me to come visit their schools and try to recruit me, and then walk my hand through the application process. is it not like this for everyone?
also, 1410. but that was with no preparation when i was 14. i just used those scores, i never retook it. i imagine i would have beaten it easily with time to spare when i was 17 or 18. |

Edit: I still think this whole thread is dumb. Edit 2: As an academic who has taught many college students, I can tell you that standarized test scores mean absolutely nothing. They're simply a cheap/lazy tool that colleges use. |
