Re: Context
about 1/3 of the stack of the players involved.
Yeah, that's too big for a call in a NL tournament where the rest of the money is going in on the flop. |

Re: Rambling comments on Announcing, Jerry Buss and WPT....
He did not *advocate* playing JTs to a raise. He said "many players consider JTs to be a great hand." This is a true statement. Whether the *many* (whatever that means) players are right or wrong is irrelevant to the veracity of the statement.
I was also the guy that mentioned Joe Morgan. he and Madden both do the same thing as color commentators: they restate what you just saw while providing no analysis. VVP is play-by-play. Sexton is color. When VVP says Many players consider JTs a great hand, it's Sexton's job to analyze *why* some people belive that. |

Re: Great Quote by Vince on the WPT
...viewing in flat mode, I never really know whose reply is replied to what and so on, so I'll just tag my comments on to here...
JTs is a good hand, but not in that situation, facing a raise and a call for that much of the stacks. One reason I've heard that JTs is good (aside from the "most straights, nut straights" part) is that if you do hit the straight, there is likely to be good action b/c it is likely to give other players high pairs, strong hands... VVP - yes, he's a moron. No, the show isn't intended to be watched and scrutinized so much by avid players. I actually like the show, though I've gotten out of the habit of watching it lately. It got very repetitive. I did rewatch chunks of the Paris event while muted, and found I actually like the show better. It was far more interesting watching players debate calls and think things through without the background sound... Just my thoughts... El Sapo |

\"David has the JT of diamonds, a very strong hand.\"
Later in the show, he said "David has the JT of diamonds, a very strong hand." At this point it was like 3 or 4-handed.

Re: Great Quote by Vince on the WPT
This was definitely the worst episode of the series. The commentary was like the middle of a bad Super Bowl. These guys didn't know what to say. I don't think even Layne knew what to do with Jerry Buss his play was so bad(Jerry's that is). You would have done a much better job Jimbo plus you have sense of humor.

Well, I've got all the shows on my computer, so I can edit the commercials and "Poker Corner" out. As far as redubbing goes, I guess I could take the audio out too. Someone else can dub it. Tommy Angelo and another guy who has a good speaking voice. We can market them as the show for players who don't need a tutorial every single time. |
