I agree completely. Still, I think if most reasonable people were driving and realized that they were starting to swerve a little bit, they would have the good sense to pull over.

A: there are a lot of unreasonable people out there, B: alcohol really helps with rationalizations- i know... but you're mostly right. |

I just learned that in DC you can be arrested for DUI with as little as a .01. If that's the standard of drunkeness, then yes, I've driven drunk all the time.

I have driven above the legal limit countless times. Twice, I drove home drunk and threw up the next morning. Most on this thread said they never will again. I am almost positive I will drive above the legal limit once again. Crazy thing is, I think I drive better when "tipsy". That is pretty much the only time I try to obey the speed limit and use my signals, etc.
Of course I'm 21 and indestructible. I'm sure some of you are much older, and wiser, than I. |

Launching my car in the air over a bike path into a stump didn't convince me to quit driving drunk as a teenager. My buddy eating the big one as a passenger of a car with some drunk chick driving did.
Don't worry, she was fine. |

"in both cases i would almost guarentee that the reason my friends died is because someone who is [censored] retarded was given a license to drive, and then had a few beers." and in both cases, it's likely that if the driver hadn't been drunk, your freinds would still be alive. that's like saying: guns don't kill people, people kill people. well, okay.. guns DON'T kill people, people kill people... with guns. [/ QUOTE ] Gun control arguments DO NOT HELP this one. |

I've done it a handful of times. Havent done it in months and wont do it again after I was a passenger in a car that got into an accident. Of course, the driver was drunk.

I agree completely. Still, I think if most reasonable people were driving and realized that they were starting to swerve a little bit, they would have the good sense to pull over. [/ QUOTE ] I think this is very unlikely in the majority of cases. People just want to get home. Plus many people don't want to just pull over and sleep in a strange neighborhood, don't have cab money or don't want to spend it, don't know where to get a cab, and females often don't even want to get out of their cars at night if they can possibly avoid it. The thing is, people drink all the time. Drinking is social. Drinking and driving isn't a once in a while thing or reserved for kids; it's the norm. Not saying it's a great idea, but it's absolutely the norm. |
