Re: PP \"juicing\" vs. other sites
Played at this one table where a guy got AA three hands in a row (do the math!), and all three got cracked. That sort of thing seems a pretty good argument for something fishy, except that it happened in a live game, using two different decks and a Shufflemaster.
Improbable [censored] happens. |

Wow
More or less everything I believe about PP all in one post. Thank you for joining the tin foil hat club.
It's been my thinking that all of their success is due to this helping hand given to the pigeons. It's not their software. It's not their CS. A minor argument can be made for their marketing but I'm not convinced. I continue to play elsewhere. |

I agree with your post about partypoker, and it is not on the other sites. I see the cycles too, I just don't see how to identify them. The winning cycle always seems to come first. .... It has happened to me 4 times already, 3 times on party and one time on empire. Once, I was lucky enough to cash out +500 before I had a losing cycle. The other three times I basically cashed out break even, after being up a bunch each time. Can you give a hint about identifying the cycles? I don't have pokertracker yet, but I am going to get it soon. [/ QUOTE ] So, when are they going to take me out of the winning cycle? It's over a year and counting now. This crap about "cycles" and jucing games just shows how far people are willing to go to explain away losses. It can't be me, it's the mean old poker site that's conspiring to take 0.01% more of my money! The burden of proof is on the people with the 100k plus databases that can't find any anomolies, not me and my useless anecdotal evidence! It just feels different! |

Re: PP \"juicing\" vs. other sites
exactly....
I would bet that 70% of all poker-players would say 'yes' if they were asked "do you think you are in the top 20% of all poker-players?" (kind of like everyone thinks THEY are a really good driver...but all the other idiots on the road don't know what the hell they're doing) there are very few people who think they suck at poker. Lots of break-even to losing players THINK they are long-term winners....and their wins would be even bigger if it weren't for those damn crappy players ALWAYS sucking-out on them and those crappy cards never 'running right' (whether it's live players clammoring YET AGAIN for a freaking 'set-up' or online-players claiming that you can just 'feel' how many more bad-beats there are online compared to live) It boggles my mind that so many players refuse to point the finger at themselves when they lose. It is everyone's fault by their own. I'm just the opposite for some reason. I'm actually super-quick to point the finger at myself when I've been losing....and when I score a big win I put it more on a nice 'lucly streak' then any superior 'skill' I might have. I'm also more likely to remember the suck-outs that I got for some reason. When someone else sucks-out against me I pretty much think "oh well...that's life." and I move on. There are so many players out there who will catch a draw on 3 straight all-in's....and then will go ballistic when they fail to hold-up a favorite. The psychology of all this fascinates me. The lengths to which people will go to deny the OBVIOUS reason they don't win as much (their advantage over their opponents is minimal to non-existenet) are really incredible. And also pathetic. |

Re: PP \"juicing\" vs. other sites
[ QUOTE ]
What continues to baffle me is why the people who think online poker is rigged or otherwise unfair continue to play. It doesn't make sense. [/ QUOTE ] Because for the most part they are degenerate gamblers who need to blame their losses on things other than the fact that they just aren't that good. Every Casino game is essentially "rigged" in the sense that in the long run, you can't beat it. Yet plenty play these games, and plenty of those that do play know full well that they can't really win. |

I continue to play elsewhere. [/ QUOTE ] But why do you care as long as you're making money? I don't. You can say the same thing about collusion. This costs us money as well. But the games are still worth playing. |

They say that sort of thing everywhere. Most of them aren't even serious anymore -- it's so cliche they're using it ironically. [/ QUOTE ] The thread could have ended here |
