Re: M of 5.4, UTG+1, A10o, Your move = Fold/Raise/Limp/Push?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Didn't say you did, I'm saying that if AJo is a push whereas A10o isn't, and AJo has 35% equity against expected range, with our FE here giving each villain a 7% chance of having a hand they will call with (slightly high to make up for variances in calling ranges), what constitutes 35% as being the minimal % of equity for this situation? Thats the math I wanted to see. [/ QUOTE ] Please do note that raising with something like AJo, means that it is less likely you will be called by a dominating hand than raising with something like T9s, due to the high cards in your hand. [/ QUOTE ] I factored all of that in already curtains. Look. |

Yeah I was telling that to the other person, not you. |

Curtains, what is your push range here? And if you could show the math for why the AJo is justified and A10o is fold I would be thankful as well.

Curtains, what is your push range here? And if you could show the math for why the AJo is justified and A10o is fold I would be thankful as well. [/ QUOTE ] Superfast explanation. If your opponents called your push with ALL hands stronger than ATo, then you would win 36.2% of the time. If this happened it would be a +ev push with under 6.6x the BB. You have a touch over 8x the BB. If they call with something like 77, AJo+ and ATs+...then you will be called less but only win about 31.1% of the time. You will be called about 33% of the time in this case, and this doesnt take into account the times when you could be called in multiple places, which of course slightly hurts your EV. In any case in this scenario, anything above 7.8x the BB makes it -EV for this particular hand. If the calling ranges of your opponents are about 77+,AJs+,AQo+, then it might be slightly +EV to push. In any case, despite being shortstacked, I think its ok to wait for a slightly better situation. What I mean is that you don't need to accept a -EV situation just yet, to avoid an even larger -EV situation. In any case I think its very close. Close enough so that its very clear that pushing with AJo is correct, and that pushing with ATs is correct. |

What did you do to come up with 6.6x and 7.8x bb?

I've decided to not reveal how I came up with these numbers anymore, I'm sorry. If you do a lot of research and work, you can do the same thing.

Are there any old posts of yours that would at least clue me in on where to begin?
