1) Realign into 6 divisions of 5 teams.

[/ QUOTE ]
This would be a logistical nightmare.

If we just get rid of the silly idea that interleauge play must be reserved for a particular month, then this would be no problem. This is the system that the NFL used untill 1999, and it works just fine.

Wildcard + imbalanced schedule = fuckng awful.

[quoteInterleague = good for baseball

Aside from a few series, not really.

It ain't just interleague, but the weighted schedule vs your division. Houston gets to play four teams under .500... I don't know how many times, exactly, but they get to play cincy a helluva lot more than Philly does.

The problem is, then, that nobody will give a [censored] about interleague games when they don't take place on summer weekends and haven't been hyped the [censored] out of.

Interleague play = the suck.

As for the imbalance in the wild card race, I say so what. A team that misses out on the wild card for any reason has nothing to complain about. If they wanted to make the post-season, they should have won their division.

[/ QUOTE ]

What the [censored]? Are you on stupid pills? If you're gonna have a wild card to determine the best four teams or whatever, why are you going to make it more of a sham than it already is?

How about this?

Realign into 4 divisions. 7x2 in the AL, 8x2 in the NL. Top 2 in the division make the playoffs.

No interleague. Play an imbalanced schedule if you want, it doesn't matter to me, because there's no wild card.

How about we keep the divisions and wildcard as is, get rid of interleague play altogether, and play a balanced schedule. Why is this so hard?

Because we were making silly suggestions, so I joined in.

Fair enough. I didn't mean that toward you, I just hate interleague play and an unbalanced schedule.

If you can't win your division, you shouldn't be in the playoffs.

and San Diego should? What about the Red Sox the past two years? Clearly one of the best 6 teams in baseball.

Baseballs pre wild card format was awful.

[/ QUOTE ]

abso freakin lutely. as a Giants fan I had to suffer through one last year of the old format -- when the Giants won 103 games and had the second best record. to the Braves, in their same division with 104 wins AND THE GIANTS DIDN'T MAKE THE PLAYOFFS.
