Re: Talking on the Phone While in a Hand
[ QUOTE ]
Unless he's whispering into the phone, or uses a camera phone to take a snapshot of his hole cards, how can he be getting help with the hand? Did the guy say out loud "Hey Phil, I'm playing 2-4 and I've got pocket jacks on the button and it's 3 bets to me, what do I do?" Unless they are significantly slowing the game down, what's the problem? If they are concentrating more on their conversation than the game, that's to your benefit, I don't care what the stakes are. If something as minor as someone talking on the phone during a hand is getting under your skin, you better be continuously aware of your emotions and make sure you don't let it put you on tilt. [/ QUOTE ] Ive persoanlly seen this happen, some jackass woried so much about the table drunk not following the rules to the T and then going on tilt. I dont talk at the tables and if isnt affecting the intgerity of the game I will not say anything |

If something as minor as someone talking on the phone during a hand is getting under your skin, you better be continuously aware of your emotions and make sure you don't let it put you on tilt. [/ QUOTE ] As I originally posted it was a great 2/4 game and I could care less about that instance. I was interested in what the rules were in other places. It is annoying when someone has to be constantly prodded when it is their turn to act because they are talking on the phone. BTW, it would be easy to cheat in a higher stakes game that was run like this table. I could sit at one end of the table and my buddy at the other end. We call each other and act like we are speaking to our girlfriends. Of course, we are talking in code and helping each with 3-betting, flop analysis, etc. Of course, you only consider this a "minor" issue, right? I'm not saying this is a major problem, but it is something that is possible given the rules at the Luxor. Why even give cheaters an opening? I won't even mention text messaging, which I can do without looking. Since the casino doesn't lose when people cheat at poker they can be lax in setting up rules to discourage cheaters. That was the purpose of my post. |

Re: Talking on the Phone While in a Hand
If two cheats are colluding at the same table they don't need phones. Signals would be much easier. I still think one guy on the phone in a 2-4 game is a minor issue.
Your original post says you "got annoyed", not that you could care less. |
