I see you are down with the DMB. I play a little guitar myself.

Right on.

Yeah, their live stuff tends to kick a non-trivial amount of ass.

Oh, and Tim Reynolds = God.

Live at Luther College is one of my all-time favorite albums.

Also, Song That Jane Likes should be making it into a setlist of mine sometime soon.

I'm glad I'm finally seeing similar love for DMB on OOT. Seems like all I've read lately about them on here is trash.

I'm playing Song That Jane Likes on guitar right now.

tangerine is a nice easy song to play, the only problem is to play along with the recording you have to be tuned down 1/2 step.

I have a guitar tuned down a whole step (I play a lot of ben harper) so I can capo 1 and play that and patience, which is nice.

Clearly, I'm going to have to obtain more zep than I currently own.

I'll see what I can do.

What else do you play?

Any DMB?

I have Pioneer CDJ-1000 CD players, so one thing I do to practice when playing along with tracks that were recorded tuned down 1/2 step is to pitch them up by 5.95% or so, which turns out to be almost exactly 1/2 step. This is much easier than fiddling with re-tuning the guitar all the time. You could do this if you have a CD player with pitch adjust, or, if not, you could pitch up the wav or mp3 by 5.95% in a sound editor, too.

yeah I play a lot of Dave (way too much actually) and then a lot of Ben Harper, Dispatch, and Zeppelin.

Some other acoustic stuff like Jack Johnson, Mayer, Martin Sexton, Etc.

Lately I'm really digging Coldplay and The Shins.

And then just random rock/alternative stuff from the 90's-00's, more on the chill side (Save Tonight, Everlong, etc)

Tim Pic after a solo show

Group Pic

Met him a few times. He's amazing. Completely down to earth, very cool, very short. First pic is of him signing my girlfriend's wristband (we had nothing else to get signed). My ugly head is in the upper right. Second pic is a group shot. I'm roughly 6'1", girlfriend is 5'0". I had to bend way over. He's a complete badass, regardless.

A song you might like (or possibly hate, I'm not sure) is Annabella's song by Everclear. Should be easy to play. Here are the lyrics:

I see you roll your eyes
You know it makes me smile
You are like the sun to me
Bright as liquid fire
I feel so powerless
To hold you up above the world
You are quite a lot of trouble
Such a pretty little girl
Such a pretty little girl

You know I'm never home
I'm always miles and miles away
I feel I'm runnin' out of time
Say the things I need to say
Call you on the telephone
You will not talk to me
Yeah you just don't understand
You are my everything

Anna, Anna
Tell me what you want
Tell me what you need
Anna, Anna, you are never alone
You are never alone

Anna, Anna
Tell me what you want
Tell me what you need
Anna, Anna, you are never alone
You are never alone

I like to watch you play
When you don't know I'm there
See you in your sleep at night
Reach out and touch your hair
I wanna make this world
Be just how you want it to be
Yeah you just don't understand
You're my everything

Anna, Anna
Tell me what you want
Tell me what you need
Anna, Anna, you are never alone
You are never alone

My oldest daughter's 8th birthday was today. We had the party at Chuck E. Cheese, then came back here as it's my weekend with the kids. It was pretty much a "by request" guitar night; since it was my 8 year old's birthday, I played whatever songs she called out, until she was out like a light after about the third song, at which time my 4 year old continued making requests.

Here's tonight's setlist:

Ants Marching - Dave Matthews
Polly - Nirvana
Jenny Dreamed Of Trains - Vince Gill
The Man Who Sold The World - David Bowie (Nirvana Unplugged style)
Mad World - Gary Jules
Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots - The Flaming Lips
Blue Railroad Train - Doc & Merle Watson
Fast Car - Tracy Chapman
Patience - Guns 'N Roses
Land Of Confusion - Genesis
Two Step - Dave Matthews

I still need to learn some Zep (other than Stairway). I did get a hold of Houses Of The Holy.
