Re: An exercise in note taking
I was just about to jump in on the defense
yes its a little thin, but its not horrid, the game is 7handed, hero is openraising from MP and prob has a pretty broad range(I'm raising a fair amount of stuff here), if it was an open from the CO, I'd def. be calling with 65s, maybe 54s .. or if there was a caller then this isn't soo bad either, autocall with 2callers here with 43s his flop and turn play is good his river bluff isn't as bad as made out to be, I think it succeeds about 1/6 right about where it needs to all in all I don't think villian played his hand too badly |

I mean, a lot of the replies in this thread have made the villain out to be a moron, when really, this whole hand was played fairly well. |

Re: An exercise in note taking
Great idea!
I would write something like: - Doesn´t use free card play with flush draw. - Bluffs river on semi-scary board. |

Re: An exercise in note taking
I don't like the second part... I don't want to have to read the board to understand my note on him. I'd rather put something like "Bluff-bet double-paired river w/ missed FD"
[ QUOTE ] Defend BB w/43s HU - Can bluff (K7272 river bluff) [/ QUOTE ] |

I don't like the second part... I don't want to have to read the board to understand my note on him. I'd rather put something like "Bluff-bet double-paired river w/ missed FD" [ QUOTE ] Defend BB w/43s HU - Can bluff (K7272 river bluff) [/ QUOTE ] [/ QUOTE ] The reason I like to put the board there is that it helps me to remember the hand. For whatever reason, seeing the board brings more memories to mind. My actual notes are a bit more detailed. For this hand, it would read: Bluffer?? - C BB HU w/43s, K-C K72d, K-C 7 t, bluff 2 r - lost to 99 By being able to replay the hand completely, I can recall other details, such as what I think of him and some circumstances surrounding the game at the time of the hand. I don't mind spending the extra time to type it in, and I don't mind taking the extra time to read through and recall these things because I only play one table at a time. There's no reason for me to make rushed decisions. If I see more bluffs from him, I remove the question marks and add the bluffing situations below. It becomes something like Bluffer - C BB HU w/43s, K-C K72d, K-C 7 t, bluff 2 r - L MP w/97o, B AKQ f, B A t, B T r - lost to K8o |

Re: An exercise in note taking
Other people have already defended me (awww, thanks guys), but I think that the bluff on the river has a fair chance of working. His action the whole way looks like he could be calling down with bottom pair, so isn't it a reasonable assumption that he might have that deuce? He only has to get the hero to fold something like one time in 5, and it's a super-easy fold to a reraise (for him).
So preflop is definitely shaky, but after that he had odds to chase his flush draw, and made a decent bluff on a scary river card. |
