I'm not a conspiracy theory guy. I don't believe there's anything different about the cards on UB. I don't even believe there's all that much different about the players on UB, but there's less game selection than Party where I always do really well. The key reason is that it's easier to table-hop.

I got killed at UB recently while getting premium hands that didn't hold up.

Here's an example from a 6-max game:

All fold to CO who puts in a steal-raise. Fold to me with 99. Re-raise. He three-bets and I call. Flop comes 9JJ. I check-raise and we cap and I know I'm ahead and that he has an Ace with something. I know I'm going to lose. Turn brings a J and I'm not afraid he has the case J. I know in my heart of hearts I'm going to lose on the river. River Ace. I check and call his AT.

Half a dozen hands like this in two hours and I'm way down.

It's just 6-max. The variance is like that. However, the games I've found have been much more aggressive than I'm comfortable with.

There's no mystery and no conspiracy.

Ultimate Bet is cursed. I'm a life long loser there, bonuses included! (30k hands or so.)

In my opinion, each site has a different texture with regards to the players, so what works well for your play at Party, may not work as well at Games Grid, or UB. FWIW, my hourly on UB is the worst of the twenty or so sites I've played. I make an assumption that the players there are better than other places, and therefore I win less.

With a few sites (such as UB), since my hourly rate is smaller, my downswings are usually more drastic. Perhaps this is what has happened to you.

There also seems to be a different culture at different sites were your game has to be adjusted to be able to win.

Bingo! Owl has the answer. The sites play differently for whatever reasons and your game needs to be adjusted accordingly.
