Are they stopping at 100? Or are they stopping at set blinds?

I'm sure they could get well under 100 today.

Default the Grinder

didn't see his name but might have missed it. What happened to Michael "the grinder" Mizrachi? Not really a fan of his but after his two week run on the WPT, and he was in the upper levels of chips most of the series, it looked like he was playing great. Did he just implode or what?

Greg's got mad skillz, but the deck really is smacking him in the face. Since the dinner break he's called all-ins with QQ, K7 that flopped two pair, and AA. Everytime someone has a hand that they feel they can push with, Raymer's got them trumped. Not saying he's not a great player, but let's not discount the short term luck involved in an event like this. If there were none, we'd have the same final table every year.

Pretty much. He took a huge hit when he flopped a sucker straight to AK and then busted on a pair vs. overpair. He went from ~400,000 to 0 in about an hour or so.

That's usually how you aquire a big stack. Or did you think people become chip leaders just by bluffing?

CURSES! MET WIFE GETS BOOT

ANNA Benson, the outrageous wife of Mets pitcher Kris Benson, raised a whole lotta hell in Las Vegas last weekend. The buxom former stripper was ejected from the World Series of Poker at the Rio on Saturday for excessive cursing. After serving a 10-minute penalty for dropping the "f-bomb," a violation of tournament rules, Benson returned and asked her dealer, "Does that mean I can't say any other word? I can say c - - t, p - - - y and c - - k, but I can't say f - - k?"

All I'm saying is that luck might get you in the money, skill might get you in the money, but to win this thing you need luck and skill.

I think that is pretty well understood by most. Luck factors in so many ways in a tournament, its impossible to even try to quantify it when we are reading updates on cardplayer. When we try to figure out how lucky someone is it only turns into a circular argument. I think its easier to just assume that if a guy beats 2500 players one year and 5600 the next, he's probably at least doing something right.
