Re: My Bustout Hand--Oh The Humanity!!
I don't like the call preflop by the guy only because if i hit the q or j i still don't know if it will be good and may get me in toruble. And i'm out of position. But he is getting a good price to call by the small reraise so can't blame him too much. We all know the great daniel negreanu woulda called in a heartbeat. He loves calling outa position reraises preflop with suited connectors.

this is way wrong. it isn't a ring game. [/ QUOTE ] This early in the tournament you can't be turning down +EV situations unless you think they are very close. |

Re: My Bustout Hand--Oh The Humanity!!
Rough hand. I probably would have bet 6.6k PF but not always.
No way you are losing a SF draw on that flop. Talk about getting rivered by a two outer. I wouldn't expcet Ac Qc to fold very either. |

Tough hand, that is the worst card that could of fell. But, like everyone else stated; a bigger raise PF was in order.

Perspective
OK, I got some sleep.
I appreciate the responses. Well, MOST of the responses, I guess. Anyway, in retrospect, i'd say the preflop raise should have been bigger, but he's calling anyway, and a bigger raise only builds a bigger pot for him to be tied to. But yes, ok, fair enough. 6600, at least. Yes. But be fair here---when you've been getting no value whatsoever for your premium hands, it's not a tough mistake to make. (Results-oriented: still going broke). Sorry, but I'm still OK with my flop raise. Sure, it's probably (barely, given all information) pricing AcQc into the pot, but it's really about the only amount that satisfies all of my needs here: getting paid off by AT, KT, QQ, or JJ, charging the draw, and, most importantly, giving me a safety net against a set check-raise or stop and go (which I really thought was distinctly possible). I suppose the only thing I woulddo differently here would be to raise to 6600 preflop instead, but I'm still writing this post even if I do that, so I'm not going to beat the hell out of myself. As for his preflop raise and call of my reraise, I maintain that both are bad. If you have to play QJs utg, you want callers, and you want to get in cheaply (although I'm folding it; the table wasn't THAT tight). What you do NOT want is a speculative hand played headsup out of position against a tightish player showing strength. You have to know that unless you get a miracle flop (straight, flush, trips), or two pair, you're going to be charged handsomely on the flop, and now we're getting to where you've jeopardized half of your stack drawing. I think he can lay down to the reraise, and should have. As for my lack of H.L.A. (Hellmuthian Laydown Ability)...hey--life's too short. Thanks for all of the input. See you in Aruba! |

[/ QUOTE ] i'm not one to typically do this, but i just searched all of your posts and would have to say they are pretty laughable. please, stick to giving standard or even bad advice for 10 dollar sit-n-gos or being inane in the wpt/gossip forum. i would quite happily cross-book any tourney we would ever happen to both enter. and if you would like i can just straight book you in anything you play, stt or mtt, just pm me if you would like. |

Re: My Bustout Hand--Oh The Humanity!!
again as per the hand:
i am surprised UTG did not bet-3bet all in here. he is 48-52 against AA/KK-no club and has enough FE to make that +. only slightly worse 45-55 against AA/KK-with club. also he is a 55-45 favorite to QQ and JJ, and has even more folding equity. then again I suppose he assumed your smallish raise was pricing him in perfectly, and that his OESD was completely hidden. |

Re: Perspective
Once he got that great flop, bet the 6k, and got reraised 15k, I think moving in is probably the best play. He's got the straight and the flush draw, it's not likely that he is much of an underdog, and he very well could be the favorite. And you said yourself you were planning to muck to an all in reraise - not that he knows this.
