I don't think there is anyway you can fold.

[ QUOTE ] This is a silly question. You are playing in the WSOP and you don't know to call? She must have flopped a set since you are posting this. [/ QUOTE ] Did I say I didn't know to call? It seems pretty obvious you missed my follow-up post to this. The main thrust of the post is that even "pros" make mistakes, as I personally think Kristy played this hand badly in not one but two spots, and it just hapened to work out perfectly for her. I was FLOORED when she rolled over 33, for reasons expressed in the follow-up post. [/ QUOTE ] I'm not really sure why you are so surprised at a call like this. I don't think shes trying to flop a set here, she just thinks her pair is the best hand. She might have planned on betting almost any flop and shes gonna take it down quite a bit, especially if the thought of folding here even crossed your mind. |

that when I asked how many chips she had left [/ QUOTE ] were you just making conversation? i don't think there is any amount she could have that should make you even consider folding. |

Wow ... I thought she was stop-and-going with AK.

Perhaps in this instance but it is always important I think to try and put opponent on a range of hands when making an important decision and this is one of the variables you have to consider when putting her on a range of hands.

Let me preface this by saying that I would play this exactly like Hero in this instance, but am going to try to play devil's advocate.
Would a preflop limp be that bad? Since its PL, you can not push preflop, so by limping you can steal post flop if checked to, or bet any flop that hits you well. Also have raises of 250 been taking down the blinds? Seems kinda small. Would a pot size bet tell the blinds that they're playing this hand for your whole stack no matter what? As for the SB's play. If she feels you're committed enough here to call with hands like AT-AK, is it that bad of a play? This way the BB is trapped between you two, rather than checking to you, and scaring him out of a hand like 55 because there's been a bet and a call. |

This is coming kinda late, and really doesn't affect my opinion (i.e., along with everyone else, you have to call), but isn't your math off?
1. You had t925. 2. You were first in, leaving you with 625 on the flop (raise BB from t100 to t300). 3. Button folds. 4. Two callers from SB and BB. 5. SB bets out t750, BB folds to you. Shouldn't there be t1650 in the pot, not t1500? Like I said, if anything it makes the call easier. Or did you deduct out the chips she had you covered with (which would leave t1525, I guess). |

Tough break Daliman, but I think you made the right move.
1/3 of your chips are in there and you just hit top freaking pair. And you're shortstacked. HOWEVER, I'm a little surprised you chose to make this move with KJ to begin with. If you haven't already, please clarify. I know it was folded to you and you did have KJ (which may be reason enough). |
