I use a heavy money clip I have. It is in the shape of a horseshoe. It works well as a chip protector, and has the additional bonus of making people think I'm superstitious. Some people tell me I need to change the position of it so that the horseshoe is pointing up so the good luck will fall into it.

Of course I change the position of it if I'm not getting cards. But that is just for show--I think.

Someone should go to the Zoo and ask about card protectors for the internet. Preferably someone with very few posts.

I think it's really fun to be able to change your protector when your cards go bad. I'm not saying that changing makes any difference, but it's certainly fun and adds conversation to the table.

I usually toss a few "M.U.S.C.L.E. Men" in my pocket before I head to the casino. I found all my old figures in my parents' house. They're nostalgic and entertaining between hands.

P.S. For the love of god, don't do a google image-search for "M.U.S.C.L.E. Men". Believe me, it's not worth it.
