Re: Cops: \"I\'m going to tase you!\"
Good post. But I'm not even talking about the race angle(one of the cops was black as night).
It would be just as bad if she was white trailer trash. Stupid pigs out of control again. |

Re: Cops: \"I\'m going to tase you!\"
[ QUOTE ]
Most people go into police training because they were the nerds beat up in high school, and this is their sick idea of revenge. [/ QUOTE ] I have had several encounters with cops for traffic-type violations (and other reasons as well). I treated them respectfully, and they have behaved professionally. I'm sure there are bad cops out there, but most are decent hard-working folks that would rather NOT taser others. |

I'd wager that 60-70% of cops are scumbags.

(I used to live in So. Florida and it's not harmonious -- the cops there are insanely bigoted). [/ QUOTE ] This I did not know. |

Re: Cops: \"I\'m going to tase you!\"
Like I said above, one of the cops there(the one in training) was black. It's easy to find fault with the officers without resorting to racial arguments.

Re: Cops: \"I\'m going to tase you!\"
Come on, she was acting out of line cause she knew she had a suspended license.
However I did see video of a cop that pulled over this belligerent guy that was calling(screaming) him every name in the book and tore his ticket up and threw it on the ground. The cop just said pick that up before I give you a ticket for littering and then let the a hole go. |

Re: Cops: \"I\'m going to tase you!\"
Well I certainly don't condone driving with a suspended license, and I know that she was driving with the suspension. But that still doesn't justify tasering her. She was not a threat to the officers. They should have opened the door and tried a few more verbal comments before resorting to tasering her. It seems that there's only 20 seconds of conversation before they TASER her. I'm sorry but that is bullshit. He told her twice and then he zapped her. Ridiculous.

[/ QUOTE ] She didn't see the black cop until she was tased. What she saw was a white cop pointing a gun at her for (allegedly) speeding and (allegedly) having a suspended license, threatening to arrest/shoot her. I obviously agree that she should have obeyed, put the phone down, and cooperated. But I can understand why she was nervous, and I think that a) if it had been the black cop asking her to step out of the car she might have been less confrontational, and b) there are many other ways the police could have arrested her without tasing her -- just reach in the car and cuff her. She was a thin woman and the white cop was a very strong and tall man. |

I totally agree. But i can't make out the detail that you can from the video. I can't really see her at all.

Re: Cops: \"I\'m going to tase you!\"
If you watch the videos on the bottom she is clearly pulled over and told she was speeding, going 51 in a 35. She proceeds to tell the cop that he can't pull her over since he was drving. She asks for his name and badge number and he gives it to her. The cop seemed very chill up to the start of the 3rd video when she refused to get out of her vehicle and he tasers her.
