thats pretty cool, although a 64-bit capable processor is a waste at this point. there aren't many apps that run in 64-bit at this point you would want to put on a laptop.

that advertec laptop is over kill for a poker laptop.

heck, any Pentium 3 that has wuxga screen would do for a poker laptop, and run word/Internet explorer fine. they sell for $500 on ebay.

unfortunately, it's rare that you'll see a p3 with wuxga screen for sale. instead of me wasting time/energy searching for one, i'll spend the extra $250 and buy a modern machine, and use the extra hours to win back my $250

Yeah I think I'm going to try and switch to the 6000. Hopefully they will let me transfer the coupon.

[/ QUOTE ]

Turns out they only let you transfer the coupon if you upgrade your order...

[/ QUOTE ]

Well, I tried to transfer from the 700m to the 6000 and they wouldn't let me do that either. At least they let me cancel though. I finally get an order in on time and I f**k it up. Talk about being a terrible decision maker...
I really hope this deal comes along again soon; I have to have one by August.

I did the exact same thing, I just cancelled. It was sorta spur of the moment anyway, but I'm still annoyed. Next time this coupon happens I'm gonna get a 6000.

Excuse the bump, I'm pretty computer illiterate.
How's this Gateway - as good as a Dell or no? Looks like it has the same capabilities, and includes most of the trimmings. I'm not a Dell hater, but I've heard MS Office is much cheaper if you buy it on your own, is that correct?

That is a very good deal for a laptop with that much power. Although it is a bit heavy and with a processor at that speed will likely eat up battery time like crazy.

Yeah I ordered the 9300 this morning, but I'm wondering if I should have got the smaller one. I'm terrible at making decisions. Does anyone know if they will let me switch my coupon over if I call them and tell them I want to switch to the smaller one?

[/ QUOTE ]

I have a 9300 and love it. You will not be upset when it arrives.

choices...
- best poker laptop = Dell 6000

- if you plan to only have 1 computer system for use at both home and away = Dell 9300

[/ QUOTE ]

One big thing: The 9300 is one of the few laptops with built in DVI, so if you have a good LCD monitor you can actually plug it in *along with* the laptop screen and eight table off the one machine. You'd probably need a good wireless mouse/keyboard etc. but it's doable.

Personally, I love mine although I'm only quad tabling until I move and can buy a Dell LCD to go with it
