[ QUOTE ] I think a reasonable play for the UTG would have been to cap preflop with, say, QQ-TT in an effort to in fact knock out at least the UTG+1 limper [/ QUOTE ] Yes, this is a reasonable play if UTG knew utg+1 would limp and then the other player would raise, then he can limp his QQ! [/ QUOTE ] Hi gambler, You're right, it doesn't explain the first limp very well, but I was trying to respond to Dcifr's question about the cap (which seemed to assume that the UTG knew UTG+1 would call 3 more bets). But the more I think about it, the more I'm seeing that UTG's hand is screaming AA/KK .. |

In this situation, I expect to see a hand like 67s, 78s, 89s, etc way more often than AA or KK.
He limps with a limping hand that plays well multiway, and when he actually gets his wish with a few other players, he takes the opportunity to cap it and get as much money in the pot as possible. I think it would take a lot of searching in your database to find more than a few hands where a truly strong player limps AA - QQ UTG. |
