Thanks for the good words, Dan.

If we all made precisely $1 per pot we'd make considerably more than we actually do, even tho we still make good money. The average is probably more like 50c per pot.

I say a sincere "thank you" for all tips, large or small. Swooning over large tips and being a schmuck over small ones equates to just plain being a schmuck.

Occasionally I might say an extra thank you, or in some way talk to and show appreciation for an especially generous or otherwise pleasant customer after the down is over.

Not to mention the extreme mental concentration to keep track of the exact money in ever pot for 8 hours straight. I know he will probably respnd with "well i do that too". but you dont do this for 8-12 hours straight you only do it in pots with which you are involved. also if there are newer players at the table the dealing has to help them understand the rules, count the pot, make sure action is flowing smoothly, make sure nothing is out of the ordinary, all while doing numerous calculations in his head. im not saying dealers are more intelligent then teachers (which im sure some are because teaching just as anything as has varying degrees of excellence, all you have to do is take classes and pass an exam. intelligence has nothing to do with how hard you are willing to work. if you dont want to tip that is fine but dont put down the amount of work a dealer does. BTW I am not a dealer just respect the profession.

If you were serious about becoming a dealer and you sent Chip a PM and said, I am thinking about becoming a dealer in Misssisssippi, what do I need to do and how much can I expect to make. Then I am certain He would give you a heads up on what to do and a ball park figure of what a Mississippi dealer makes.

But asking it in a public forum earns you the answer that Chip gave,(correctly BTW) none of your damn business, shut up and go away.

Depending on what part of Arkansas he lives in he could be very close to a casino. Mississippi casinos were a hotbed for poker 8 years ago, nevermind today. With Oklahoma's opening of casino poker the Western border state also has poker. If your geographically challenged, Missouri has had poker to the north for quite some time. Asking someone if they travel to Vegas once a year to play poker is showing your ignorance. I've worked in Vegas and outside 2 or 3 rooms the action is 10 times better in Mississippi than anywhere I've seen in Vegas.

I was not talking about Mississippi, I was talking about Arkansas. Since you called me ignorant, please enlighten me with the various casinos in Arkansas (not that I will ever go).

And after that, let the thread die because you are foolish person trying to impress people your a dealer. Let me assure you, anyone with any poker knowledge is not impressed and don't care.

There's a big huge river between Arkansas and Mississippi, but there's this neat thing called a bridge that lets us dumb rednecks get across without drowning.

Are you that dumb to think it's that far to drive to Mississippi, Missouri, or Oklahoma, to play poker? The whole point is you told him he knows nothing about playing live. His location is directly in the middle of where he either most likely does or lives close enough where he could if he wanted to.
Now.. As far as me dealing. I have answered direct questions about dealing and floor decisions, ect. You happen to be the only person that's said anything negative about my posts or my career. I enjoy what I do and I provide quite well for my family doing it. When you see me post? Don't read it. Don't reply. You've proven your ignorance far too many times already. The only times you ever post in Brick and Mortar are to bitch about how much you hate tipping. Now go crawl back to the "other topics" section where you belong and continue to post on "sperm facts", reality T.V. shows, and cleavage. Try to fit in with the young crowd you old washed up nit.

Union Electricians in LV make about 60K plus fractional over time. Plus no cost full coverage health, optical, dental insurance for their entire family and 100% employer funded self directed retirement account and a additional vesting type retirment account based on years of service.

You show me a minimum wage card slinger that can touch that and I'll eat my shoe.

oh did I mention 17% and 32% shift differentials and double time on weekends
