Re: Am I playing right with this set on a one suit board?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I dont really like this idea. The villain has shown way to much strength. Even if he has a baby flush I do not think he is folding often enouhg to make this profitable. [/ QUOTE ] I suggest reading up on Clarkmeister's Theorem. [/ QUOTE ] I'm pretty sure Clark's Theorem only applies heads-up when you've been leading on each street and getting called down, not when villain has been showing massive aggression into a multi-way pot throughout the entire hand. In all honesty I can't see a better hand folding or a worse hand calling a river bet. |

Re: Am I playing right with this set on a one suit board?
Given the action throughout the rest of the hand, I'm ok with check-calling the river. There's no way I'm bet-folding a set here.

Re: Am I playing right with this set on a one suit board?
Looks to me like the button has 45 of the wrong suit. I think I'd definitely bet the river. If he flopped the nuts, you'll know about it. If he had the straight off the flop, he may fold his better hand, thinking there was no way he was ahead anymore. At worst, you get raised and can easily fold. At best, he folds. Somewhere in the middle is your opponent calling. In any case, you were planning to spend 1 BB anyway. Why not give him a chance to fold?

Thanks for all the great discussion on this. In case anyone was wondering, villian had (in white) :
