[ QUOTE ] Rake is an important aspect when choosing a game, an increase of $1 could easily turn a winner into a loser. I hear about places with $5-7 rakes on 2/4-10/20 tables and i cringe. [/ QUOTE ] by that rationale, I should stop tipping the dealer or else I will be a loser? [/ QUOTE ] Does not follow. |

[ QUOTE ]
I play 5-10 with a $5 rake and $1 for the bad beat jackpot. $6 total. Not including tipping a buck when I win a big pot Is this rake + occasional toke insurmountable at this limit? The games are full of loose passives. [/ QUOTE ] I play(ed) a 5/10 game with an identical rake structure, tipped well, and won at a decent rate over a few hundred hours. Small sample of course, but I definitely think it's very beatable. |

![]() [/ QUOTE ] Losing 2/3 of a big bet is significant. Compare that to 1/5 of a big bet on a loose 10-20 and it really shows. Figure the best guys on 10-20 average about 2BBs an hour. Their rates would be much less on the 3-6. b [/ QUOTE ] yeah, but where do you find a loose 10-20 game? I've heard most of them, around here at least, are tight and very tough |

They are passive and easy. They used to be much tighter and tougher. Not now. Once in awhile they can get a bit tight, but that usually doesn't last too long. The 20-40 game, in some regards to action, is a bit easier at times. (based on muckleshoot) b |
