Default Re: How fast did you move up to 10/20 or 15/30?

Between deposits and withdraws I put in about $1200 over 8 months, playing absolutely every type of game I could. After about 8 months I had my basic ring games down ok, and my sit and go and MTT skills were pretty decent. Oh, and I had learned to play within my bankroll (I was a bit hard headed with that lesson, had to get taught it a few times.)

By 12 months in (maybe a little less) I was playing 5/10 short and by 15 months in 15/30, but my big bankroll builders were tournies. (For a while, my biggest money maker was the little $25 rebuy on RV, then I hit a couple nice scores in party MTTs, then, for reasons I am unsure of, I started shunning tournies to play ring games more.)

You are correct. A proper english sentence would read: "This isn't english." I'm glad you can be honest about how poorly you write.

And you, sir, are incorrect. A proper English sentence would read: "This isn't English."

I'm disgustingly risk averse, I played no higher than 3-6 for like 2 years, I have a bankroll that's closer to 6 figures than 5 and after losing 7k in 15-30, I'm still down in the doldrums, playing 8 boards of 5-10. I friggin hate poker.

Just curious how fast people were able to start playing limit, and move up to the higher stakes games like 10/20 or 15/30 online. I'm talking a winning player too. Someone who won at each level and kept moving up to the high stakes games.

[/ QUOTE ]

This board is amazing. We start out with a guy who simply wants some information about how quickly people have moved up in limits and we end up getting grammar lessons from every holier-than-thou shmuck and their brother.

Then you people wonder why 2+2 can really suck sometimes.

Default Re: oh isee u added some periods in the limits too

You do realize that there are plenty of people who post here who play much higher than you, right? you play 5/10, they play 5/10 blind NL etc...no use talking [censored] about what stakes you play, youre a small time player and you always will be.

I started playing freemoney games mid July.

31Jul 5c/10c at pacific with $50
10Aug 10c/20c (assume at least a 300BB roll from here on)
22Aug 25c/50c
9Sep 50c/$1 I got butchered here and lost half my roll

17Sep 5c/10c Pokerstars
1Oct 25c/50c

1Oct Made the leap to Party 50c/$1
22Oct $1/$2 6max
30Oct $2/$4
2Nov $3/$6 (didnt stay at $2/$4 very long lmao)
17Nov $5/$10 6max
1Dec $10/$20 6max

You'll see that I spent most of my time at the nano limits, I felt this was much better because when I got to Party I was ahead of the game. Most people move up to 50c/$1 too early and then struggle.

I'd say I have moved up pretty quick by anyones standard I do have a gaming and gambling background. I also work 2-3 days a week so I dont need to take money out my roll.

If I'm not at work I'm playing or learning poker (yes I have no life) so don't expect many normal people to move up this fast.

Is 2/4 that bad?

Do you mind me asking what your win rate is at 10/20 6 max, and over how many hands?

Pretty quick move up all together. Congrats.
