Re: The worst error I\'ve ever made in Poker...
[ QUOTE ]
You guys are retarded [/ QUOTE ] Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. I'm not the one who let my ace-high flush time out for one bet. If you're not interested in cheating, then why do you do it? Don't think you're cheating? Ask yourself if what you are doing would be allowed in a live cash game or in a live tournament. Clearly not. |

A) I'm not. B) I don't care. [/ QUOTE ] yeah.. you should save yourself while you still can you might not care, and that is fine. i don't care if you care , but at least realize it's cheating, which it is, that way you won't look stupid. |

[/ QUOTE ] Hey, I just want to personally thank you for finally coming into the thread. I think we can all sleep easier now that you have regurgitated what's already been said. I mean [censored], I didn't think it was cheating before, but now that YOU say it is, well by golly it must be. I want you to read very carefully: I DON'T GIVE A [censored] WHAT YOU THINK. And I don't mean that in general, i mean you personally. So while being slow to catch on may have gotten you this far, it's pretty god damn annoying on a message board. Furthermore, I told you I wasn't cheating. What it *seems like* to you is of no [censored] concern to any except you. Where I come from, accusing someone of cheating is a pretty serious matter, and I have been complete forthright of my intentions. Do you think you're some brilliant detective who deciphered the [censored] DaVinci code or something? I posted this knowing full well many people would read it, use some common sense. You're a moron, this much is clear, but did you even take the time to consider how much of your life you wasted saying exactly what has already been said several times? Think of all the dumb [censored] you could have been doing! You probably missed out on at least several things that even the bad guys in Home Alone would have thought were stupid. Best of luck in life, it's gonna be a hard road I'm sure. -Stacks |

Re: The worst error I\'ve ever made in Poker...
Actually this sounds like something I heard the other day from a friend, to quote him
"I raised UTG....everybody folded up to the BB...who raised me 90 % of his stack...when I re-raised him all-in....he said..."I meant to fold"...and he folded...getting 20-1 pot odds... Before the Flop !!! LOL |

Re: The worst error I\'ve ever made in Poker...
I'm going to break ranks here.
Personally I don't see any reason for a one player per hand rule in online poker. I don't even think it would be a big deal in a B+M casino, except that it would be too disruptive to allow. If there is a rule against using a cell phone at the table in a B+M, does that mean it's cheating if you do it? But online I see no problem with it. I don't do it, but I wouldn't care if my opponents did it. I also don't like unenforcable rules, which only punish those honest enough to obey them. Do any sites' terms explicitly disallow this? |

Posing a Question...
This is directed to anyone who actually knows the rules at major casino cardrooms. I'm not asking for personal opinions on what you think they should be, your best guess, etc.
Is it against the rules at most major cardrooms to confer with an observer (friend, spouse, etc.) during a pot with which you are involved? I am ignorant of this issue, as I have only played online and home games (where this has never occurred). My ignorance of the overall rule is a result of knowing there is nothing much I can personally do about online collusion. |

Re: The worst error I\'ve ever made in Poker...
I have helped friends playing friends online by telling them how to play a hand, and telling them the stats I had on the players. I didnt even consider it cheating, if I was at the same table as him, then yeah

Re: The worst error I\'ve ever made in Poker...
[ QUOTE ]
Buster, I get what you want - input on how a hand should be played from other people, so you can learn - but really, if that's all you want ask whoever it is *after* the hand. If you actually want help on how to play A hand, while in progress... Hell I won't even comment to good friends *learning the game* on other tables, even if they tell me what they've got, until the end of the hand. This is not a line I would feel right about crossing. Even casually. But repeatedly, and with aforethought, I too think it's just _wrong_. [/ QUOTE ] is it really that wrong? do you consider it wrong to sit with a beginning player at his computer with him and guide him through a hand? i don't. and i don't really see how this is any different. |

Re: The worst error I\'ve ever made in Poker...
This reminds me of a story. I was playing the $10/$20 no Limit game at the Bellagio when I was in Vegas this past August. I had KK in UTG and raised to $75. Folded to a decent player but a little loose preflop on the button who raised me to $225. Folded to me and I re-raised to $650.
He just called. Flop: 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] I had about $2800 left, and Villian had just over 3k. Wanting to put him to the test, I bet the pot (about $1300), and he raised me all-in. So about $1500 to call. I suspected that his hand smelled of slowplayed Aces so I called time, as I needed a couple minutes to go over the previous hands I had seen him play. Just then, my buddy came walking by my table, having finished for the night and saw I was involved in the big pot. I showed him my hand and said I was thinking of laying the Kings down. He said, "To that guy? I have played with him lots, your Kings are definitely good." My opponent kind of protested the advice, but my buddy told him, "relax man, we're just here for fun", and my opponent settled back down. So I thought some more, and decided to call. Turns out he had missed with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and was making a move. So I took down the pot and thanked my good friend Daniel Negreanu for the help. |
