my goals:

- move up to 0.5/1 by halloween.
- buy pokertracker

[/ QUOTE ]

seriously?

I thought you were a 2/4 or higher player

[/ QUOTE ]
i moved up from 0.05/0.10 to 0.25/0.50 a while ago, but since i forbid myself from moving up without 1500 BB at a limit, i move up slowly.

[/ QUOTE ]

I just ran these calculations to figure out my BR:

At SD=6.995/hr & @1.6BB/hr, with a 0.01% (10000:1) risk of ruin, my bankroll should be 140.83 BB. I figure you can do these in BB/100 as well.

I imagine if you plug your numbers into the inverse formula, your risk of ruin will be something like parts per billion. So does this have to do more with moving up than having a decent BR?

i am kidding mang, but honestly i have played a thousand or so 0.5/1 hands recently because i took out my bankroll to go to europe during summer. i am slowly adding money into my poker accounts again, getting through bonuses, etc.

my goal for the month of october is to get another bonus and get enough money online to at least get back into 1/2. i was at 2/4 before i went to europe, and i'm getting back into the swing of things.

1) Not get pwned playing heads up matches against thinking players.
2) Get $600 to start playing stud.
3) Maintain a 9+ BB/100 at the beginner tables over the 45 days allowed . (2403 hands, 10.5 BB/100 -- I get a couple hundred hands every two or three days and I've got until the middle of the month.)

1. Finish reading Weighing the Odds in Holdem Poker.
2. Play 4000 hands of 1/2 6 max.
3. Play 10000 hands of 2/4 and 3/6 full ring.
4. Spend less time at this forumn, and more time working on my thesis.
5. Finish my spec. television pilot by Oct. 20.

1) I have a copy of ToP that I still haven't finished. Will work on finishing that.

2) I'll be leaving 1/2 6-max shortly. I've moved up before, but instead bought myself a new laptop with a portion of my BR, and am ready (bankrolled) to move up.
(any suggestions on a good place to play 2/4 6-max? )

3) I need to start utilizing PT for post session analysis. I'm sure that there is a bunch of leaks that I have which would be easily plugged if I just spent the time to WORK on my game.

4) Determine and implement organizational strategies to hopefully make my life a little less eratic feeling. Finish reading Getting Things Done and actually work on using somet of the strategies.

I'd probably try Stars first for 2/4 6 max. Absolute is another option, but I'm not sure. I played about 10k hands at Absolute, and I found the games to be somewhat tough. Coupled with some nasty variance, it left a bad taste in my mouth. However, you can get a sweet ra****ck deal there, and the (virtually unlimited, moderately quickly clearing) bonus doesn't count against your MGR for it. I made much more in free money there than I did in actual poker winnings. You could also consider getting a few more BB at 1/2 and going to 3/6 6 max at Party, which I've found to be softer than Absolute or Stars 2/4.

i've been distracted lately by tourneys, which sort of drain my hourly rate....so my goals

1. stop playing tourneys (maybe still a couple)
2. get 20k-25k full ring 2/4 hands in
3. find at least 3 leaks and plug them.

non-poker
1. finish these 2 editing projects that i've been chipping away at forever.
