Re: Looking for Help with Table Selection
I choose the tables with at least 5BB average per flop. When I sit I don't post right away. I check to see how many hands are raised preflop, and how many players are seeing the flop. If 1 out of 3 hands or less are raised preflop, and 4 players or more are seeing the flop on average, that's where I want to play!

Re: Looking for Help with Table Selection
Do any of you guys follow Mason's advice from Poker Essays - i.e. that it's best to have a balance of loosey goosey types plus some tight passive players - a "half and half" mix
His reasoning is that in games full of very loose players : a) Your SD goes up a lot b) A lot of the time the games the loosey's are just pushing the money backwards & forward between them (every hand gets played out fully without you so you see less hands per hour) ZB |

Re: Looking for Help with Table Selection
The 6 max games are definitely better but the full games aren't that bad.

Re: Looking for Help with Table Selection
i used to just join the waiting list like a sucker. but then i woke up and said to myself "adam, do you really wanna be a big fat sucker?" and then i thought no. so now i just go on waiting list for tables with fat pots and usually wait for ones with 7+ BB. works good for 3-6 if u play right times, for higher limits or during the day i guess you have to aim lower...
also when I play in tables with fat pots, the table seems to get tight after sometime so i switch |
