Re: How much money do you carry on you?
$20-100, usually around $50. I can't imagine ever needing more than $100.

Re: How much money do you carry on you?
500-1k.
My dad, though a completely legit business-type, always carried a lot of cash. He had - still has actually - 2 money clips he carries simultaneously. One with big bills, one with 20s and under. I don't use money clips, but I do the same 2 wad thing. James' reasoning on why to carry a lot of cash is spot on. |

If this is in a black briefcase, then I think this is a good idea, and I'm going to start doing it too.

Re: How much money do you carry on you?
i've been thinking about this for a couple months now. carrying cash up to a couple hundred is very smart cause things can come up, i had planned on carrying quite a bit more, maybe like $600-$800 so if a poker game came up there would be no issues. A couple weeks ago, though, I went downtown and realized it doesn't feel safe having that much and it's not at all worth getting it stolen. Credit/debit cards are definitely the way to go, but keeping a couple hundred for practicality reasons is smart.
i do remember this one time when i was probably about 17 when i walked in to walgreen's to get something small and was behind a man, his wife, and a young kid. they were paying for $22 worth of things so they wife took out a $20 and that was all she had. the man then took out the biggest wad of hundreds i've ever seen, had to be 15k. it looked pretty cool, but it's just not smart. |

Re: How much money do you carry on you?
what are you all carrying it in quarters and nickels or something. money aint heavy ya know.
two hundred bucks doesnt buy you anything if you find something you want. do you want to spend half your life waiting on waiters to bring back slips and machines to spit out pieces of paper. the only time i dont use cash is at the gas pump so i dont have to go inside the dirty station. |

Re: How much money do you carry on you?
a few hundred can cover meals and similar things very easily. items like clothes and electronics are easier to pay for in cash.
