Two ways of expressing the same concept:

1. You win 1 SB when you raise with the best hand and stay ahead. You lose 1 SB when you raise with the best hand and eventually lose.

2. You win a partial SB on average when you raise with the best hand (because the best hand won't always win).

So I don't agree that I was wrong just because I used phrasing #1.

KK has a much better chance of being the best hand. It would depend on my read because some players rarely cap without AA/KK. If I thought I probably had the best hand I would put extra action in at some point.

The strategy I described is much less likely to be correct in a 3-way pot. Now you are getting 2-1 odds on any extra bets that go in the pot. Either that or you force out a player who might be a threat to you.
