I've dealt at many clubs and if i made a $5 tip for every pot that was over $400 i would be a very happy man. It was a good tip. The other players should mind their own business.

So. the pot was over $900 when you won it then?

If anyone complains about how much you tip, ask them to tip for you or shut the hell up. If the dealer complains, you're done tipping that dealer for awhile.

It's no ones business how much you tip.

I actually had a dealer tip me $10 after a half hour of second best hands and being majorly sucked out on. I thought it was a nice gesture. I am usually a good tipper, and I am sure he will be repaid many times over for this move.
