Wow, I really hate finishing 31st after focusing for 2 hours 15 minutes, pushing for 9BB in the CO with Q2s and getting called in the BB with KQs. Argh. This is mentally frustrating... [/ QUOTE ] Just to commiserate, I just spent the first two hours as the chipleader. Then in two orbits, AQ<AK, AK<QQ, and 44<10/10 (BB vs. SB) and i'm out in 26th. I hate poker. -J.A. |

I love these things, I'm thinking about quitting my job to just play 180s at Stars (seriously). Just wait for the cards, but if you do get into a pot and miss a flop, extremely aggressive post-flop usually takes it down. Esp. near the end when everyone tightens up to try to make the final 3.
I've only been playing seriously for 3 months. I think I'm above average but nothing special (yet). So you know if I'm beating them handily, the quality of play on these things is pretty piss-poor. Just frustrating in the short run when they donk you out in 23rd place. |

They arent STTs. They are 180 player tournaments. Top prize is like 1k.

Could anyone even guesstimate a ROI in these games in more of a longterm sense? In order for this to be profitable I determined for myself that I would need a ROI of 50% or higher. This seems really high relative to SnGs but I don't know what is realistic for MTT's.
GL with your challenge. If it can actually be that profitable I may have to join you eventually. |

[/ QUOTE ] I really have no idea. All I know is I have a 13% ROI in Party 22's over a small sample (like 400). Hopefully I can play at least 150 in December and get a rough gauge. It is veyr, very hard to determine a true ROI from these kind of things due to the sheer variance. It's impossible with MTT's. |

Maybe he's just extremely tight and didn't want to enter as only a 45% favorite to win the hand (or whatever). Although it's hard to see how he could have you on anything other than AK or a high PP, which he would have dominated. Weird.
