Entered the $5 rebuy tonight, was one of the 29 folks to win a free seat in the $165-10 double shootout at midnight (I was considering unregistering and saving the tourney dollars, but didn't realize I had to make the decision before 10 minutes till the tournament started).

First shootout, I get down to heads up with "Premier", who, if I remember correctly, used to be consistently near the top of the TLB at stars. He's got me 2:1, I trim the lead a bit, and then slip to a little better than 2:1.

I find A9 in the SB and raise to 3BB (I have about 50 BB left). Flop, K93 two diamonds, giving me middle pair. Premier checks, I toss in 5BB, and he moves all in. He had made a couple of biiiig check raises on the flop before, so I didn't know what to do here on this drawy board. Eventually, I held my nose and called. He turned up K6 and IGNH.

In retrospect, I hate the call. Getting less than 1.5:1...ugh. Any thoughts?

Anyway, next time, I'll take the T$ - Tournament poker just ain't for me
