Re: Ted Forrest calling down Chad Brown with wired deuces
[ QUOTE ]
In the 2004 WSOP stud event that Ted Forrest won there was a memorable hand where Forrest called Chad Brown down the whole way with an unimproved pair of deuces. After calling on the river he immediately flipped his hand over, knowing his pair was good. [/ QUOTE ] This is my favorite bluff call ever in televised poker. |

Re: Have we ever seen a great call of a bluff on TV?
[ QUOTE ]
Caro called Todd Brunson with KJ high on the river a couple weeks ago on Poker Superstars. It wasn't super expensive, but still, nice little call. [/ QUOTE ] Caro wrote about the "mullet twitch" tell in his book. I wouldn't call this exactly a tough read |

[ QUOTE ]
3rd: Matusows call against Raymer - the other big stack at the table - with only 2nd pair. edit: WSOP 2004 of course. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think you can call Raymer's bet a bluff since he actually had the best of it with a flush draw and two overcards. I can't remember the precise board. But, this should be close enough. He slapped them down on the table, knowing they were best, and it was great. You could tell Chad was humbled there. I should upload the clip. |

I bet if Farha made that call with top pair nines no one would have considered it a great call. "Well, he had top pair!"

Re: Have we ever seen a great call of a bluff on TV?
[ QUOTE ]
We've seen big bluffs on TV...Chris Moneymaker vs. Sam Farha, Daniel Negreanu vs. Freddy Deeb, Paul Phillips vs. Phil Laak. But can anyone remember any big, difficult, successful calls of a bluff on TV? I cannot. [/ QUOTE ] Moneymakers pocket 3s vs Dutch's KQ, any call of a Gus Hansen bet. |
