Re: Raquel Welch
[ QUOTE ]
That said, when she was young, she was fantastic, and pretty much thought of by everybody as the best body there was. [/ QUOTE ] |

Re: Raquel Welch
Raquel is prolly the most overall beautiful woman in history, although I give Jennifer Connelly c.1992 the "peak performance" award, and Sophia Loren has certainly "played higher for longer" than any other woman, a la Doyle and high stakes cash games.

Re: Raquel Welch
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] As to Dunaway, she was cute in Bonnie and Clyde, but she seemed to age extremely rapidly to me. Her skin got sallow and sometimes grayish, her face looked a little bony and corpse-like...she has to be shot just right, and to me has not been a looker for a very long time. Something about her aging, the odd flattering photo aside, was somehow very early and catastrophic. [/ QUOTE ] Are you saying this doesn't make you horny??? And yes, I am kidding. [/ QUOTE ] It makes me sympathetic. She looks like a startled birdbrain with gum disease and some sort of baffled desperation. Gotta give her sympathy points for trying, though. She's had that thing with all the lower teeth showing when she talks and an immobile upper lip that old people get for decades now. If I tried to sell a horse that long in the tooth, it would be to the glue factory. |

Re: Raquel Welch
I've seen her recently. She can't pass for 35.
But I also saw her when she was 35. And that was a sight for sore eyes. For those of you who live in L.A. and know Mulberry Street Pizza (a few locations on the west side), the owner, Richie, was married to her for a while. As you can imagine, he has some entertaining stories. |

Re: Raquel Welch
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] first who is that? second i take raquel. [/ QUOTE ] Faye Dunaway and she is > the Raquel, then and now [/ QUOTE ] She could act circles around Raquel, but looks-wise? No effin' way. What would be interesting is if they'd switched roles. Dunaway in Fathom or 1,000,000 years, the audience would be asking, "What's up with the outfits?" Welch in Chinatown, John Huston becomes a sympathetic character, "Yeeeeah Noah! SIIHP!!!" |

What say there, fussy britches? [/ QUOTE ] I say there's been some (outstanding)work done, but the basic structure is still extraordinary. |
