Re: Brief Classic (Hard) Rock Poll
[ QUOTE ]
Wish you were here has to be one of the top ten albums ever. [/ QUOTE ] If you mean "best" best, then I agree. If you mean best-selling, then it's not even close. Anyone who likes Dark Side of the Moon or The Wall better simply doesn't know their Floyd. When they played "Shine on you Crazy Diamond" on the Division Bell tour it took the crowd a couple chords to recognize the song and then everybody went quiet. Over 60,000 people in the stadium and you would've heard an individual voice if someone had yelled. And then when the lyrics started up, everyone whispered along. Have you ever heard 60,000 people whispering in unison? It was amazing, even without drugs. Scott PS For those of you who think you're Floyd fans . . . Who is the crazy diamond, i.e. the "you" in Wish You Were Here? |

Re: Thread Hijacking
"Hard" is in parentheses for a reason. I just didn't want anyone to say "wow it's obviously the Stones and the Beatles." Pink Floyd is not hard, granted, but harder than some.
And since when do record sales mean anything? I might as well put the Eagles on top of this list. |

Re: Brief Classic (Hard) Rock Poll
I stand corrected. Best is what I meant. Sid Barret(sic) was his name right? The one who went nuts.
God... I had to dust off a few brain cells to remember that. |

Some of his highlights included using PCP as hair gel for the band's first national TV appearance in the US and strumming the same chord on his guitar for an entire concert. Enter David Gilmour. Re: Brief Classic (Hard) Rock Poll
Take out The Who, and it would be a much better poll.

That was where you groped that chick covered in vomit while she was passed out. I remember, it was while they were playing "urgent", right?

Everytime I hear that song now, I think of her boobs and... covered in vomit. I don't need no instructions to know how to ROCK! |
