Maybe you misunderstand me. No, I would never use this move in any game I play these days. Yes, I think it has a fine application in the 3/6 situation described.

Hey thief, could you elaborate a little more on checking behind on this flop (against certain players). It is something I've been experimenting with.

[/ QUOTE ]

some players will auto-checkraise scary flops. think of it this way. you are against a LAG. he will defend his blidn with x% of his hands. against those hands you estimate your equity is x%. but he will checkraise the top 50% of his hands. against those hands, your equity is only 30% so you can't call the checkraise. so we have a problem. our hand is good enough against his range of hands but when he check-raises it's not and you'll have to fold. you can get him to fold a 6 outer sometimes but in exchange you're giving up a hand that's good enough to pay off with sometimes.

not a very elegant example but it ges the point across

i threebet in kurosh spot all the time on the net knowing its 100% good. these double checkraises are draws EVERY SINGLE TIME.

[/ QUOTE ]

So what?? Your read of the double CR is different to most other peoples (and as it should be, you don't play the games they do). All that matter's is kurosh's read.

[/ QUOTE ]im just sayingh that when i first read the thread, i thought... this guy obviously has JT. i said "just call down," because, well hes gonna bet the river anyway and he may be going out of his way in this sit. to outplay kurosh and gain an extra bet (read : miss max value) considering they prob have some kinda micro stakes pro rivalry.

a gazillion semi-bluffs that brazilio will play this way.

How do you know he'll double CR his draws?? Seems pretty unorthodox to me.

[/ QUOTE ]im shocked to hear you say this...

I don't recall the last time I was double checkraised. I also can't recall the last time I double check-raised as a bluff, but I have done it on several occasions with big hands (granted against bad opponents)

that's exactly what i was thinking as i read this thread. i'd fold this turn if i was kurosh, if i knew the BB was a 2+2er i might change my mind. i'd fold the flop too of course.

I don't know. I don't check the flop all that often. when I do it, it'll usually be in a spot like KJ with a 987 flop

Whoa nm, I was thinking of the wrong hand last night. The only read I had on you was TAG. I had Kc 7s here. I assumed he knew I was TAG. I didn't know at the time he was brazilio and he knew who I was. I figured he hit 2-pair.

I think it's a good laydown 90% of the time on my part.

You got my hand wrong. It was A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7x, which makes it a lot closer imo.

[/ QUOTE ]

I just guessed it was A7 actually, I think you just said Ax.
