[ QUOTE ]
We have WAAAAAY too much empathy for people like this. All those people are talking about the guy's "civil rights" and "police brutality". The REAL brutality is that this bastard killed a cop for absolutely no reason. [/ QUOTE ] No, the real brutality is that people who say this: [ QUOTE ] You take someone's life, you HAVE no civil rights. [/ QUOTE ] Call themselves American citizens. Our founding fathers were great for a reason, don't piss on their grave. Seperation of powers Bill of rights History books discussing any of the corrupt governments that existed within the last few thousand. I suggest you read and study all of those. EDIT: Alobar beat me too it. |

And anyway, why has no one mentioned the fact the guy killed the cop, WITH HIS OWN GUN!!. [/ QUOTE ] Read my earlier post in this thread a little more closely. Your trolling would have been better if you hadn't admitted that was what you were doing. |

wack,
read my post right above yours. Hyperbole, but still. That anybody would defend this piece of garbage is a travesty. He deserved everything he got and then some. He's lucky he's alive to HAVE the speedy (and it WILL be speedy) trial he's going to get. Cruel and unusual punishment? I think it was pretty cruel to kill a cop for no reason. How much of this can society really put up with? Don't worry - cop killers get to go to jail, and when they catch a beating from the dead cop's brothers, everybody wants to hang the cops. Ridiculous. |

I didn't call him a hero, and really it's irrelevant whether he's a hero or not. I'm not necessarily disagreeing with you, I think your position is the correct one.
My point is simply that it's pretty easy to go on an internet message board and take the moral high ground. It's another thing to actually see your partner get shot and to not retaliate and to instead act "by the book". |

[ QUOTE ] [ No jury in the world convicts the involved officers of anything. [/ QUOTE ] That doesnt mean it's right [/ QUOTE ] I think its BECAUSE its right. What do you want, to fire the officers who beat this piece of crap for doing something HUMAN? I guess you're just better than the rest of us if you wouldn't take a few swipes at someone who killed a guy who was almost family. I suggest you ask some officers of the law what they would do in this same case. |

No it's not. Talk is talk, and there will be a lot of publicity but not much will happen.
I'm curious, what do you think about this situation. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2005/...in667737.shtml |

Seperation of powers Bill of rights History books discussing any of the corrupt governments that existed within the last few thousand. [/ QUOTE ] What do corrupt governments have to do with killing a guy? It's clearly a dangerous precedent to say that this guy doesn't deserve a trial, because you could apply that to other cases where there is some shady stuff going on. But we're not talking in this particular instance about a guy who is suspected of killing a cop, but a guy who actually did it, unless you believe that the other cops killed him and are setting this random dude up, but that seems a little too cinematic for me. |
