How many counter examples would you like me to find (assuming I can) to prove you wrong.

I'm totally disbelieving of anything that has 'external information' but am willing to put in a sensible amount of time to show you that you're wrong.

[ QUOTE ]
applejuicekid,
What I was saying was that it seems that the bot uses unconventional information to makes it's decisions. If someone were to make a bot that either folds or moves in they would have it move in based on its hand, stack size, postion, and the blinds. This bot doesnt appear to do that. It seems to completely ignore position and blinds at times as was the case with the 2 4 hand.

[/ QUOTE ]

There's no reason a bot programmer couldn't make his bot bluff. He might even have overestimated how often it should bluff or made it bluff randomly without considering context.

Fairly strong evidence of a bot, IMO. It has no postflop logic except to check it down if given the opportunity.

I think it's one of the things that everyone considers, if only to know what they might run into. "How could I write a NL bot in theory".

This kind of error is exactly the kind that would be more difficult than it looks to fix.
(So yes, I agree)

Lorinda,
In regards to the hand you posted, the bot does not make a sinle bet until hand 25 or later. It just folds and checks in the BB until that point. There is no doubt un my mind that this is a bot, but I just question the algorithm this bots uses to makes its desicions. As far as I can tell there are times that it's desicion appear completely random. As I stated before a simple bot would use a system that factors in things like blinds, position, stack size, and its hand. I just am curious as to why in one situation the bot would move in with 4 2, but in that exact same situation it folds on several other occasions. In the case with the 4 2 it made a straight. The same goes for a time that the bot moved in with 7 5 and made three of a kind sevens, but has folded in that same spot on other occasions. It just doesnt make any sense to me assuming this is a bot.

If it's someone starting from scratch and using some kind of formula. Particuarly if it's someone who doesn't really know much about NL poker, then it's entirely possible the algorithm would be hideous at first.

Hitting the flops would almost certainly just be a coincidence.

Hi djj6835,

I think that the bot is capable of winning almost every time if, like you, it takes all the times it busts out and just ignores them and continues to post. I mean play.

Regards

It's gone an entire tourney without facing a flop bet.

I want to know what happens if you mini-bet it

Garcia,
A much as I hate to reply to your post that contains zero value to the dsicussion, I will. Exactly what have I ignored? I have accepted the fact that what I presented is very illogical, but I was just curious as to what others had to say. I merely presented the facts that I had. I now have asked for some sort of logistics regarding the play of this bot, as it is actually doing quite well. If you have a valuable response to this question then I invite you to respond. Otherwise don't wast my time.
