I have no distance control with that fucker because of the bounce from the fairway. From the rough, it's a decent club. I like a wedge that has a sharper leading edge.

Still using a Taylor Made R580 from a couple years ago. It's been great but I can't hit it for [censored] lately so it's been spending a lot of time staying in the bag, headcover on.

I recently got the Taylor Made R5, and it is the NUTS.
The R7 is a slightly smaller head, with changeable weights with which you can, uh, taylor-make your swing, I suppose. I, however, know myself well enough to know that I wouldn't be all changing the weights and stuff, so what the hell. Plus, the bigger hitting area on the R5 makes it a little easier to hit, confidence-wise. PLUS, the R5 comes in a "Type D," which is designed to repair unwanted fade (otherwise known as "slice"), which actually works a bit. I mean, I am actually hitting some balls that draw a little, which is hard to believe if you're me. |
