OK, so don't bet the flop on rare occasions. At least he could have raised the turn. Smells of fancy play syndrome to me.

Agreed. All this does is scream big hand, and the worst part is you dont even have that big a hand. More times than not when you get action on the turn and river from a good player he has drawn out on you, when you get action from a fish you are just missing a bet on the flop.
