Re: results
This would suck. This thread turned into "mike l defending his read" which is just crap and useless for everyone.
I can see your point though why deal with that if you can just call Gabe and get the one on one attention. On the otherhand I've always enjoyed most of your posts and you leaving would decrease the value of the forums! |

[ QUOTE ]
im gonna stop posting hands. for better or for worse, im just too convinced that i play my hands right so it makes it a waste of time for everyone. when i have a real question about a hand or a concept i just call gabe and straighten it out (or argue with him till he gets sick of me). i lost all three hands. in hand 1 she had K5 and rivered a straight. in hand 2 she had 87 and rivered a pair. in hand 3 she caught a Q on the turn. [/ QUOTE ] You don't know me since I only lurk here, but I'm just going to tell you now that you are one of my favorite posters and I've learned a lot from your posts. I hope you change your decision about leaving the forum |

Re: results
Too bad about the beats. But, FWIW, I play NL and still make sure to read your posts.
Your leaving would devalue these forums. |

Re: three hands against one maniac
I kind of like raising the turn in hand one.
I don't like hand 2 - board is K10983. Regardless of whether or not you were good on the flop, the only hands you now beat are Qx Jx and 45/56. It's your read on the maniac, but even so how often is she threebetting a decent player with something that horrible? (i neglected to include 27 and the like - it's your read whether or not she often plays these) Like hand 3 - maybe only go 10 bets though. Gives you a tighter table image. |

Re: three hands against one maniac
Tried to follow the thread in flat mode but now my head is spinning. I assume your reads (e.g., strong means weak) are right on.
Hand one: Preflop easy reraise based on your reads, except perhaps if she was way up front (even laggys tighten up in early position). On the flop easy bet and call of the reraise although you might want to reraise based on your read. On the turn against a more typical player you want to raise to sometimes take it right there or win on the river with a flush or even a pair. But against the laggy you might be better off inducing bets on the river since you are calling no matter what. So I like the flat call. On the river it's an auto call. Expect to lose but you need to be calling down these types. Hand two: OK I guess. Note that the deuce (compared to let's say an eight) really hurts your hand here, taking away three outs twice for the times she has a small pair Hand three: "I'm planning to put at least 12 bets in on the flop" You see the flop and you think you are a substantial favorite to be ahead. So you plan to put in some action, that's OK. But if the laggy lady had gone to let's say five bets you are probably well behind and she isn't going anywhere. So you need to slow down there. Otherwise you played OK. ~ Rick |
