I don't really understand why, but yes.

one big problem I have is I try to apply my logic to my opponents' actions. when they make certain bets into a lot of strength I assume they must have it because they'd have to be an idiot to bet into a raise, 3-bet, and cap with a gut shot. but they do it and they do it regularly. so I have to start realizing that there's that margin for error that is the money in the pot

i just think folding against an unknown in this nutty game is really bad.

because I've been told by people better than I who have played this game and bigger ones that I should raise and should pay off a 3-bet

I'd say you can be fairly certain he has AA or AT. He slowplayed this [censored] out of this hand.
