If he has Ax and the balls to fire a second barrel when a tight player calls him on a KQx board, good for him, he can have it.

His 'random' cards are not really random and don't whiff on this flop anywhere near 66%, nor does he 'always' bet them.

[/ QUOTE ]

Considering that he is probably open limping here with Kx (where x is >9.) Ax, suited connectors, and probably a lot worse- I think that chances are that he does not have top pair.

Zorro- you are giving horrible horrible advice. Stop thinking about tournaments like a little girl. No one ever said you should CALL all your chips off on a coinflip. We are talking about getting aggressive and putting your opponent to the test with a coinflip, so that you give yourself a second way to win this pot- by him folding. You cant just think "oh this is a 10,000 dollar tournament, I'm not ready to lose just yet." Be a f*cking man and be prepared to lose from the first hand. That is how you win tournaments. You WILL NOT WIN A 6000 PERSON TOURNAMENT WITHOUT WINNING SEVERAL COINFLIPS. You cant just think on the simple level of "I only have a draw so ill just call"

[/ QUOTE ]

Whoa... This is pretty bad advice for a ME. In a smaller MTT, where the game plays like preflop poker after the early stages I could see playing it this way, but in an ME this is pretty horrible. Espeically one with a field this weak.

[ QUOTE ]

Think of what your opponent first. Then realize what you have and how strong it is compared to what he has.

[/ QUOTE ]

I suggest you take your own advice.

But is he folding QJ on this board? I don't think he is.

Fair enough. If you don't think your opponent could fold middle pair there, then you are right, and there is no sense in going nuts with TJ here. However, im not convinced that he wouldn't fold it.

so what are you guys advocating then? Check/folding the flop?

[/ QUOTE ]

Most of us "weakies" aren't in agreement on what to do on the flop. Personally I prefer a check/call and lead the turn for 1/2 pot. It costs as much as a checkraise on the flop, but you get to see one more card and have a better chance of folding the CO IMO. It'll also give you a better idea as to how strong/weak the CO is. Another advantage to this play is that it makes a reraise bluff on the flop less likely, which is definitely a move a good CO could make in this situation, especially against a random BB hand from another good player (assuming the CO has that read on the hero).

Based on that one call, I think Hero's drastically overestimating this guy because no 'good' player would do this. He's just a LAGgy big stack that likes to see lots of cards; nothing special about him.

So yeah, I don't think he folds QJ or much of anything else. I agree that if he would, this'd be a CR, though.

Id like to see the details of the hand where he called an all in with a flush draw, to get a better read.
