I would call and bet out if the board comes low. I have to put him on two face cards or 21, since there are many more combinations of those than pocket pairs. The questions you have to weigh are:
Is he likely to have a hand he can fold for the extra $80000(?). - fairly likely at this stage and his stack (that he should want to protect).
Are the limits low enough that I will be able to play with my stack size if I call, then check-fold the flop? - probably.
By calling, then betting out after more information comes from the board, you would be risking more of your chips when you are a bigger favorite (based on your read of the hand) and less when you are break-even to big underdog.
This is really a tough decision. Like you said, it's JJ.
