Re: 109 interesting spot.. POLL TIME!!
[ QUOTE ]
I would fold....I put big stack on 88+, AJ+; SB on default-Average; and BB on default-Loose, and I got +0.5 when discounting 50% for next BB/SB. Seems to me the blinds are more likely to be looser than tighter than these ranges, hence the fold....I dunno, I guess Irie and deathpotato and the rest of the guys who said push think the villains will be tighter than the ranges I specified? Or do you think +0.2-+0.5 here is enough to make pushing very clear? [/ QUOTE ] The big stack rates to be a bit looser than that... but I think you are way off on the blinds, particularly the SB. this is a 109 and the short stacks like to play "who can fold into the money," a lot more at that level than the lower ones. Re: 109 interesting spot.. POLL TIME!!

You'd rather be in the CO than BTN for an open push? No way....only if I have a really big hand. This hand here isn't that really big hand. Yugoslav [/ QUOTE ] One reason I said "kind of," is that it really depends on a few things. But I'm a pretty agressive player in these kind of spots, and I can't tell you how many times I'm been called down lately with all kinds of hands like this when I push from the button (in the 109s and 215s). And a lot of situations like this the small blind will fold something like KQ or A8 here more to me from a cutoff raise than a button raise. The main worry here is the big stack, and he has to have by far the tightest range of anyone in this hand. So overall I think whether or not it's better in a spot like this to raise from cutoff or button depends on your image and how sharp the other players are. And I completely disagree with you about having a "big hand." If I had a really big hand, I'd MUCH rather push from the button, because it's going to be interpretted way more often as a steal and will thus get called more. |

Re: 109 interesting spot.. POLL TIME!!
Push it.
Minraising is bad here as the blinds won't mind stop n going here or just calling to catch a good flop since they are still far from ITM. And for those who said that they would push all in as the bigstack in this situation with a wide range over a cutoff minraiser is probably overplaying their stack and losing it often. Bad play as well, IMO. |

Re: 109 interesting spot.. POLL TIME!!
not that close? i disagree because i want to know which way you are so decisively leaning with no reads and no info about previous hands? I think its close enough that there is not nearly enough info in the op to determine the correct decision.

Re: 109 interesting spot.. POLL TIME!!
Mathematically you have all the information you need. Put your callers on the ranges they should be calling with and you can figure it out.

Re: 109 interesting spot.. POLL TIME!!
Come on now with the semantics of the situation. What do you want, a list of reads for the table? 60% of the players here 8-table. Many hands are played without any reads at all. If there is no way to answer the question without more information, then I guess that you are the only person that makes sense in this thread. Poker is a game of incomplete information, anyways; And once again I can assure you that in this part of the forums you won't be making a lot of replys to posts based on the reads that an OP threw in there.
