This is a really interesting thread and I enjoyed it. Thank you for your post and comments.
I imagine you were well beyond .5/1 when Party Poker opened the 6-max tables at this level. (So this may be an unfair question, but...) Would you recommend an extended stay at .5/1 6 max before going to 1/2? I mostly play .5/1 ring games and 5-10$ SNGs and occasionally throw in some 6-max to change things up. I only play at Stars and Party. And I play a lot of 3/6 live, which is softer than microlimits. |

You can lose a lot of BB's learning that game and it's less painful at a lower limit. You could probably skip 1/2 6-max altogether and learn what you need to for full-ring purposes at .50/1. |

Thanks for the feedback. I guess I will start slowly weaning myself away from full ring and over to more 6 max.

I pretty much agree w/ droolie. You're going to have to learn the skills emphasized in 6 max in order to be a successful poker player. Better sooner rather than later. Once you've logged a good amount of time at .50/1 6 max, and you think you've learned a goodly amount, you can either decide you hate 6 max and never sit at a short table again, decide it's better than full ring and dump full, or play it all at all limits.
