Re: Played strangely or as per usual?
I didn't think the preflop call was this much of an issue but apparently it is.

Whoops....
I was posting the whole time thinking there were only two callers ahead of you.
My humble apologies, Buckshot. |

Re: Played strangely or as per usual?
[ QUOTE ]
Calling the extra bet on flop is OK, as long as you realize you're drawing to 5 outs, none of which might be good. [/ QUOTE ] How on earth do you come up with 5 outs here? AA is the only hand his opponent could have to put him in that situation, and that would assume no one else has a K or 7. He likely has 3 outs if behind. |

Re: Played strangely or as per usual?
I'm actually surprised by your river bet.
It's awful. I cannot see any way around this assessment. Please show me otherwise; explain the rationale. I'm sorta baffled, to be honest. |

Re: Played strangely or as per usual?
Pre-flop: In a 2/3 blind structure, a call is ok, esp if you feel like you play significantly better than the opposition post-flop. I'd fold in a 1/2 or 1/3 structure.
Flop: The check-raise is fine, but you have to lay it down to the 3-bet, either immediately or on an unimproved turn. If you had a backdoor flush or straight straight, definitely see the turn, but since you have neither, I probably would have folded immediately. |

Re: Played strangely or as per usual?
Hey Stevie,
Borgata represent! Against the maniac, the posters and the cold caller, I complete there. But if a bunch of "players" enter that pot after not posting I toss. The flop three bet could be a better hand, could be diamnd draw (boy do they love to jam those draws) I guess thats what you made him for hence the bet on the river. Razor thin value bet on the river stop and go BTW. None of those clowns is likely to fold a better hand. None of the flush draws or (obvious) str8 draws got there, so if this guy was a rammer jammer on his draws, the bet is fine. Its close, but I think I still prefer checking the river and calling a bet. I would really hate to have to call a raise on the river (unless you planned on folding to it) I think a check is better. Re: Played strangely or as per usual?
I'd also call this pre-flop w/ that many people in and your great position relative to the pre-flop raiser/maniac.
I'd check-call the river, hoping to snap off a bluff from JT or diamonds. |

Re: Played strangely or as per usual?
I would not call the raise because
1- The reason that the maniac raising with anything doesn't give you an excuse to call with anything. 2-You got no right odds to call. 3- I'll say what Slansky advises in this situations:If you have K5 suited you should fold em unless you are a expert player. The main reason is that a expert player will flop a king ang fold.
