they are only doing it at "special" jackpot tables, not every table.

Well, that is better than doing it everywhere, but if the Fish flock to the jackpot tables, we will still be forced to play there.

Maybe they are doing it at special tables for now, but you can bet that soon (due to popular demand) all tables will have it, with an additional drop for the jackpot.

Default Bad Beat Jackpots Are Bad For Poker

Fish go broke faster due to the increased rake. Winning players win less. Won jackpot money is often spent on outside things like a new car or a trip rather than kept in the games. A few lucky players get new cars or big screen TV's at the expense of everyone else. All in all this is quite a discouraging development. Maybe the fact that Parry is kicking in 5K to every jackpot will buffer the effect somewhat, but these are still very rare birds. How many hands do you have to play before you expect to hit a jackpot? Jackpots are far less common than Royal Flushes, right?

I'm a big fan of the new SNGs and impartial to the rest, with the exception of the jackpot, of which I am a huge ANTI-FAN - jackpots can suck my ass - the rake is already too much and I don't need to be putting another $1/pot into some BS jackpot.

Is Empire/Eurobet/intertops doing the bad beat jackpot as well? If not, I'm curious as to how they're going to deal with situations where the winner/loser isn't on Party.

I don't know for sure, but I logged into Empire this morning to check something real quick (didn't play or look around at all) and the software had to update before I could get in. I would imagine that as Party goes, so do the rest.

The losing hand is Quad 10s or better. Isn't the usual B&M standard Jacks full of Aces or better (or Aces full of Jacks?) Anway, it will be rare enough and there are so many hands played that perhaps the Jackpot collection could be less than $1 for this to work...

That being said, I agree, this is bad news for grinders.

Default Quad 10\'s

That's pretty damn hard to have quad tens be the losing hand.

However when you think about it - 30,000 - 45,000 players on the site. I wonder if these things will be going out daily? Will it be increasing $20,000-$50,000 if it's not hit in a day?

Do they have non-jackpot tables?
