Default He\'s HU for the Seat!

Chips were about even, but he just lost a couple of nice pots, outchipped about 5-2 at the break.

Default Deal talks

Chip counts about 10K to 3.5K for Greg

FossilMan: pi, you wish to talk deal, or play on?
pijuicer: what kind of deal
FossilMan: how much cash you want to give me the seat?
HostJeff [Supervisor]: I can stop the clock longer than 2 minutes if you want to talk.
pijuicer: 7000
FossilMan: 5000
pijuicer: i am willing to pay 3 for my seat so i will need 7 or play
FossilMan: will do transfer right now through Jeff
pijuicer: ok
Administrator: The tournament has been manually paused for discussion of a deal.
FossilMan: 5000 from my PS account to you, seat to me
pijuicer: 7000
FossilMan: there is a discount involved, typically
FossilMan: somebody sold seat to my buddy after winning 2, got 8000
pijuicer: i will still have to pay for my own flight and room.
pijuicer: 7000 and we have a deal
FossilMan: you already win a seat?
pijuicer: no but i will pay 3000 out of my pocket for it
pijuicer: that means i need 7000 from you
FossilMan: with current chip count, most I will go is 5800
pijuicer: lets play
FossilMan: If I lose some more, then I might pay 7000
HostJeff [Supervisor]: OK, there's a definite "play on" request.
FossilMan: ty Jeff
pijuicer: yes
FossilMan: talk to me anytime you wish, pi
pijuicer: ok

He put a vicious beat on him, too. The guy flopped broadway and slow played it by checking flop. Turn brings a Q, they're allin on turn with a KQJQ board and he has AT vs Greg's Q9. River comes Queen! Ouch.

He had 10 outs, not so vicious. It looked worse than it was, the Q probably stung more than a 9 or what-have-you.

Default Re: Go Sweat Fossilman

Thanks to everyone for your support. It does feel good to know you've got a nice bunch of people cheering for you to win. And I obviously needed a little Karma during this final table, since I was all-in with the worst of it twice and won, and a couple of other key hands where I wasn't all-in, but again had the worst of it in a big pot.

The key lesson here is tempered aggression. At both tables, my heads-up opponent had a lead, and allowed me to chip away at them until they lost the lead. Especially when on the button, pijuicer folded about 20% of the time, maybe more. And they raised less than 20% of the time. I outflopped them HU, but the respite they gave me in the big blind made a huge difference, more so than the cards.

Later, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)
