I live in North Seattle, and occasionally play at Goldies (15030 Aurora Ave N) (Poker room just opened this year) which usually has at least a 3/6. In the evenings it's usually 2 3/6 and 1 4/8.

Parkers (about 2 blocks north of Goldies) usually has a 4/8 going.

The Hidaway (maybe 1/4 miles S of Goldies) has a 4/8 and a 10/20 regularly.

How do the 4/8 games at the Muck compare to those mentioned above? It's a long drive for me, wheras all those above are pretty much walking distance, but if the games are much softer it's probably worth the drive, at least on weekends.

The 4/8 game is no better than that places you have mentioned. The fact that the muck has like 8 4/8 tables going is what makes it desirable.

For a session roll? my limit is $200 for a 4-8. ie...25 big bets. I buy a rack at a time.

Cmon up. The games are great.

With as many as 12 tables of 4/8 going on the weekend the 4/8 games can be very good. I normally play in them for a few hours a night waiting for larger games, some nights I find 4/8's that are so good I just can't leave. I never thought it was possible to pull $500 off a 4/8 but I've done it twice now.

I'm going to be staying in Shoreline for a few days in mid-July. I'm looking forward to checking out Goldies and the other nearby cardrooms, since according to Mapquest they all look to be within two miles of my sister-in-law's house.

In addition to Goldie's, suggest you check out 4/8 at Parker's on Aurora. Can be very soft at times.

Wow, $500 is a lot for a $4/$8 game. I'm guessing both Friday and Saturday are good days to play, soft games I'm hoping. If they're as good as you say, sounds like it's even better than grinding out $0.50/$1 or $1/$2 on Stars like I am now in my free time.

Two major differences- The room is full of smoke, and they frown at you a lot if you try to play in your underwear =)

I haven't hit the $500 mark in a 4/8 game yet, but only because I didn't stay longer than 3 hours. I have no doubts at all that it could be done (my high water mark was $376 in 2.5 hours).

Good point. They probably won't let you play more than one table at a time either.

Can't wait to check it out sometime...

Caution. I have had a $500 win in a $4/8 game. It was not at the Muck.

However, this is an anomaly. You cannot expect to win $500 in a $4/8 session unless you get extremely lucky. Yes, it can happen, but don't expect it at the Muck or anywhere else, IMO.
