i'm 23 and look 17.

in my experience, good players are fooled by my looks for about two button rounds. terrible players call me down with losing hands all night.

i would imagine this would happen even if i were 45--some people pay attention to the way that you play and carry yourself, but most don't.

I have been playing online poker for about 2 years, Alot of people know me from playing online.

What does this mean or offer to the post?

Thing is, when I do go to a casino, I feel like most of my opponents (anywhere from 2/4 to 15/30) treat me like I am an amature.

Do you mean an amateur or immature?

I would think that most players my age, who have the balls to play poker at a casino, know what they're doing.

You think wrong. I think you should let people decide how you play from your play. Not your apprearance. If you play as well as you preport to play. Then it will not take time for them to respect you.

If you meant immature. Perhaps you havent told us everything.

Entertaining thread.

I'm 25, but I'm also a Dr.

Here are some of the reactions I get.
When I go casual in a ballcap and shorts and if I'm playing with people I haven't seen I get no respect until one of the few dealers who know me says "Hey Doc" and then the questions start coming and they realize i'm not the standard young dumass.

When I go after work and am in a shirt and loosened tie I tend to get more immediate respect and then it goes even further up when a dealer says hi to me.....

So I can go on a roller coaster ride of respect and it's interesting to deal with those changes in regards to your game.

The regulars that recognize me realize that underneath the ballcap, there's a solid player... which is a bad rep.
