So. [censored]. Wrong. The worst are dum-dums, any type of hard candy (usually in the see-thru plastic), except for barrels and wintogreen.

I'll start:

Smarties
mallow cups
apples
pens/pencils
bit 'o honey

I've never seen any of those candies sold in any context other than halloween, I think it's because no one would buy it for themselves.

[/ QUOTE ]
Disagree completely with smarties.

One dude in my friend's neighborhood gave out brussel sprouts. I didn't get it, but for some reason lots of kids were always really eager to go to that house. They were even disappointed one year when he actually gave out candy.

[/ QUOTE ]

I gave out potatoes once while on acid. The kids weren't as psyched as those you describe getting brussel sprouts though.

Who the [censored] doesn't like Smarties.

Pretty much anything homemade. I'm just too [censored] paranoid and I'm not eating some [censored] that you might have laced with drugs and or razors. I know that when/if I'm a parent, this would freak me the [censored] out.

One of the saddest sign of the times is the fact that we all need to purchase individually wrapped gumballs or 0.002 ounce Snickers bites because of a few sick fuckers who do crap like this. I'm not disagreeing with you Dids, I'll probably worry as well once I have kids that are out trick or treating. It's just sad, that's all.

[/ QUOTE ]

What's really sad is that it's mostly paranoia : Snopes on candy crimes

[/ QUOTE ]

To be clear- I admitted in my post that it was paranoia.

I'm the same person who believes every day for like a tenth of a second that my bus is trying to drive off the ship canal bridge. That is who I am.

For some reason, I chuckled at this for a good 30 seconds. Not AT you. I don't know why it was funny, it just was.

Little pieces of paper saying "we don't believe in Halloween". I forget what religion that was. I actually got that though [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

I like most candy but some houses always give out stuff that appeal to only a small unique group of people.

e.g- Reese's PB cup
Snickers
Hershey chocolate bar
M&M's
Butter Finger
Gummy bears
Sour Patch kids
caramel apple pops

I for one like houses that give out fruit that's fresh and easy to eat, who doesn't like a green apple? Black licorice has a nice smell to it, no other candy is like it. I don't like pennies but nickels are cool if you save them up ( for fresh fruit!). Wax stuff is cool, especially the fruit juice filled wax. When you're done drinking your treat you can tell your friends you were a glutton and drank 20 bottles of juice! (but you didn't, they were small sized wax bottles).
