I am also a very good player.

Hahahaha.

I [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Jeff.

And since I'm an enabler (ah, those social psychology days of yore), I'm required to say, "Come now, you're an excellent player and better than at least 97% of all Commerce players."

But truth is, I believe that.

A very good player doesn't say what he did.

Being good has nothing to do with choosing to give someone a break for what amounts to 1 SB in your normal game. When I play small stakes with my friends, I've been known to turn 1 card face up preflop. Does that mean I'm not a good player, or could I just be someone who thinks there's more to life than profits?

This case was much different. It was 20/40, which although not high stakes, isnt pennies. He also didn't even know the guy. He says he vaguely remembers him.

You make a good point. I guess I'm just saying that the guy probably knew he was giving up an edge when he made this comment, it seems incorrect to say that he must not be a good player because of it. Whatever though.

i dont want to get way into the hand, but it's important that you understand the best thing i can tell you is you would greatly benefit from tommy angelo's service. issues like this hand are exactly the sort of critical things he's a bonafide expert at.

Don't fall into the trap. They'll show you the first two and then step all over you. It's a trade secret with the locals who peg a "regular tourist," meaning someone who plays good but only comes around 2-4 times a month. It's a real smooth long term +EV play on their part. They don't know you from Adam and feeling guilty about sucking out on the River in not in a Poker Player's blood.

Ok? Nuff said?

I am almost CERTAIN that Tommy's advice would benefit me greatly.

Unfortunately, it's not likely to happen. I can't imagine having so much money that I wouldn't mind investing 5k. At 20/40 live (20 hrs/week), that'd take about six WEEKS to make. It's not a solid investment for me.

But I'd gladly buy Tommy's book.

Or pay a few hundred to speak on the phone with him.

Sadly, I don't think he's going to offer such an array of consulting options any time soon. :-/

Too funny.

Just...too funny.

But yes, your point is taken.
